approach 95 college park. no problems to report here at university boulevard. westbound 50 at the beltway. we have reports of a bumper in the highway. be careful there. 50 inside the beltway looks good leaving riverdale and cheverly. we do have the portion of glebe road still tied up between joyce and hay street. northbound lanes are closed. southbound has been reopened inform virginia, bristow road near 234 dumfries for the accident involving an overturned vehicle. that's a check of your fox 5 on-timetraffic. on-timetraffic. >> thank you. breaking news from israel this morning. an american man in his 20s who opened fire at a hotel in a resort on the red sea was shot and killed by israeli police officers. he reportedly bare kidded himself in the hotel kitchen and took a gun from hotel security before a counterterrorism squad killed him. one hotel worker is also dead but no hostages were taken. the man has not been identified but there are reports that he used to work at the hotel and the incident may have been a personal dispute. personal dispute. to the campaign trail now.

president obama will be in fairfax later on this morning at george mason university. his speech and one later today in ohio will focus on the economy. >> president obama is also working to encourage more people to register to vote. the voter registration deadline in virginia is october 15th. republican presidential nominee mitt romney will deliver a speech on foreign policy next monday at virginia military institute in lexington. romney and his running mate, paul ryan, campaigned in fisherville, virginia yesterday. though it didn't come up in we had night's debate, romney is talking about his 47% comment again saying his choice of words was, quote, wrong. more on that coming up later on in this hour. in this hour. an alert now for women in fairfax county. police are looking if a suspected serial fondler. >> he has approached at least five women, usual hi from behind appear grabbing them and

taking often. -- usually from behind and grabbing them and taking off. >> reporter: this firveg victim just came forward. she hadn't initially reported the incident. -- this fifth victim just came forward. she was walking here on hibling avenue in ving field at the same place where another woman says she too was victimized by what police believe is a serial fondler. the man is described as a man in his 30s with dark eyeand a neatly trimmed beard. victims say he usually comes up from behind, grabs them, fondle them and then runs away. police say he has victimized women and girls at three did i have report locations on hibling avenue, metropolitan center drive and erving street. one teenaged victim who talked to fox 5 says the man didn't say anything. >> i was walking and i saw a shadow on the sidewalk. than i felt his arms around me. he start to touch me. i never met this guy before. i never saw him.

the guy kept touching me for five seconds, around that. so i push him back. i had time to look at him and i saw his face but he was wearing glasses and a red hat. he started running away towards the school. >> reporter: now, the suspect seems to strike at random at morning, midday as well as at night and he doesn't seem to have a particular age he targets either. the women or girls have been between 15 and 40 years old. police believe given the number victims so far, there may be even more. that is the latest here in springfield. back to you. a popular shortcut to the fort totten metro station has become a site of several dangerous muggings. police say the most recent robberies occurred some broad daylight and victim were robbed of cash at gunpoint. d.c. congresswoman eleanor holmes norton and several congress members are work with transit and park police to come up with shyings such as more lighting and a paved path --

one of charles man son's followers could be a free man. bruce davis is serving a life sentence. he was convicted of killing a music teacher and stuntman in 1969. davis, now 69, is said to have shown a positive adjustment during his years by hind bars. the board is recommending parole. -- his year behind bars. another dead will you case of fungal meningitis. five people have died.

doors have reported 35 cases in 23 states so far. all of the infected patient received steroid injects to treat back pain. doctors suggest the steroid was likely contaminated and say the type of meningitis involved is not contagious. a new study finds free birth control a controversial obama administering policy could have a dramatic impact on women's health. researchers say when price was not an issue, women opted for the most effective contraceptive. it led to significantly lower rates of abortion and when it comes to teen preeing nappy, there was an average of 6.3 births per 1,000 teens in the study. nationwide in 2010, there was an average of 34 births per 1,000 teenagers. -- when it comes to teen pregnancy. a war is being waged against those flyers you sometimes find on your windshield. we'll telyou who wants to see them gone. a big cooldown is heading

julie wright now. >> happy friday. on the roads, kind of busy in virginia with a couple of problems to map out for you. sky fox is in en route. we do via portion of bristow roadblocked off north of 234. this one involving an overturned vehicle. a crash closing off a portion of rolling road. it is blocked off in each direction. we have a pole down with wires as well. northbound on i-95, you will find your lanes are open coming in out of dale city. no problems to report. traffic is a little heavy coming in out of woodbridge. live picture eastbound along 66 working your way in from fair oaks. lanes are open on the beltway between annandale and merrifield. southbound 270, a little bit below speed touching the brakes as you head out to the truck scales. the reflecting pool in tonight of the lincoln memorial

there disney for a live action movie he made called frankenweenie. they fired him in 1984. in 2012, we are coming on the way a3-d, black and white stop motion feature length film by tim burton called frankenweenie. anybody who ever lost a pet wishes this would happen. thisling boy figures out a way to bring his dog back to life. victor right there, that shot you just saw, one of the coolest shots of all time. it's vertigo shot created. you zoom the camera and pull it back at the same time. they have to do it one frame at a time. this is top motion animation. it take up to i week to complete five seconds of the movie -- up to a week to complete five seconds of movie

y every second of the movie, they have to move the puppet 24 times. this is not like cgi. this is actual puppets that are moving. the movie itself very engaging. it is funny. the voice casting is great. martin short, katherine o'hara, martin landau. anybody whoever lost a pet can relate to this film. shot in black and white and 3- d. they are releasing it in imax. don't spend the extra money. >> what did you give it. >> four and a half out of five. it is one of my favorite movies so far this year. >> let's talk about the movie taken two. >> i loved the first one. here is the key though. when you watch the first one

being you have to watch the unrated edition. the key scene with that is a scene if the first one where he is torturing a guy in the chair with electricity. i'm not going to say what the difference is but that scene for you leads into this movie that. guy who was tortured, his father now wants revenge and he kidnaps liam neeson and his wife this time around as opposed to just the daughter. the daughter helps out this time. all it is is a set-up for liam neeson to kick butt. who doesn't want to see that? i want to see that. >> he is good at whooping some people up. >> he is amazing. he is very good in this. it is farfetched, of course. there are some laughable dialogue moments. it is getting trashed by critics. the first one got 58% at rotten toe mitt owes. >> you had a chance to bump into arnold. >> when i was eight years old,

off to the north appear west, 54 in manassas. 55 in frederick. in frederick. fridays are always great but particularly when the weather cooperates. it will today. it will today. some rain showers east of chicago, that cold front will get in here during the day tomorrow. really tomorrow afternoon and tomorrow night. but this front means business. it will really cool things down so after highs in the low 80s today, we'll be in the 70s tomorrow and only in the 50s, mid-50s on sunday. and maybe some chilly showers around here by sunday afternoon. late day showers tomorrow. this is your forecast for tomorrow. that front will be approaching. we'll be in the 70s tomorrow but beheaped that front, real cool pool of air settle in for the week next week and starts on sunday with that front getting just south and east of us. a little area of low pressure riding along it could give us some showers around here.

startled by mice or other small animals around their feet. >> that is fascinating. >> now, do they not see them clearly. that is the issue? >> right. when you think about an elephant's body, the first thing you think are their ears and trunk. that is what they are known for. their eyes are very small compared to the size of their head so their eyesight is not well developed. they don't see as clearly as we do. so when this is something small moving around hair feet quickly, it can startle them and elephants are really cautious about where they step. they do not like to step on things unintentionally. so if a little mouse to be running around their feet, they will be worried that they might accidentally step on it. they might just walk away which may seem like they're running way. >> do they kind of tip toe around a mouse? >> they are probably going to try to walk in another direction or stop altogether so that the the animal or mouse is really close to their feet,

they may not even walk around very much. our 10-year-old male elephant here at the zoo, he noticed little baby toweds in the burn occasionally. they are only the size of a penny. but he will see them and notice that there is something moving around his feet and he will just stop. we usually will pick it up for him and reach it and move it out of the way. he doesn't know what it is and he doesn't want to step on it. >> i assume that humans then don't scare them as much as a mouse does. >> right. they see us coming but they also can hear us coming. we incident are act with our elephants a lot at the zoo so we are always talking with them and training them. -- we interact with our elephants a lot at the zoo. they always hear us coming before he see us coming. >> and do we think this is probably true with elephants in the wild as well? >> yeah, across the board, that you are vision is definitely their least developed sense so when they are interacting and communicating with one another,

today, maryland state police are debuting the first of their new medevac helicopters. the demeanor says the new helicopters are needed to replace the aging old fleet that they have. ten of the 11 helicopters are more than two decades old actually total of 10 new choppers will be bought and continue to be used to transport trauma patients and aid and search and rescue efforts. talk about man's best friend. this dog decided he didn't like it when his owner john had to say in the hospital for a few days. the dog wandered from his house to the hospital not once but twice. look at the cutie. his owners say the hospital is two miles there their house and it is likely the pup crossed a busy highway to get there. coming up in our next hour, teens at one local school are getting a stark lesson in the potentially deadly consequences of drunk driving. >> up next, they work hard to make sure you get a perfect cup
